The webanalytics industry has gained a lot of momentum in the last few years, and today the ability to analyze a site has become very advanced and at the same time, much easier. Google recently announced site intelligence
feature that even does the analysis for you.
The next step in the webanalytics evolution is: action
Today, when you notice a behavior on your site on your webanalytics platform and want to take action, you have to shave a yak
. What if you could simply press one or two buttons from within your tool to take action?
We created a browser plugin that is integrated with Google Analytics (GA) and Google Website Optimizer (GWO). From within your GA, you will see bucket icons right in your reports that will allow you to create on-the-fly segments (buckets) and create special targeting codes for these segments. On GWO interface, you will see a bucket button that will simplify the tags implementation process and allow apply tests to specific segements.
Let's go through an example. While going through the GA reports, you notice a very high bounce-rate for a referring site that brings a lot of traffic. You also notice that the few users that come from this referring site that do move on to a specific content become engaged. With the BTBuckets plugin you can create a segment for users coming from this referring site and automatically redirect them to this more engaging content. You can then observe through Google Analytics if this action did improve bounce-rate.
This is just the first release of our plugin - and only for A/B tests on GWO and some of the GA reports are integrated. However, this plugin already has 1-click default targeting codes that can be used to segment buckets.
