New options on IP intelligence
Some weeks ago, we made it possible to segment and target users based on their geographical location, defined by either City, State or Country. Now, we're extending Geolocation to also support Internet Service Providers and Organizations over the world. This means BTBuckets can now also target users within a single Organization or ISP, or any subset of them.
This feature also follows our philosophy: it's flexible, hence one might easily mix any of the other matching rules with Geolocation ones. And is available on the new and improved
configuration interface.
Event tracking: Segment based on anything
Remember that with BTBuckets you might segment users not only based on referrer, page view within your website, city, state, country, ISP or Organization. But also on any user defined event, which we call Event Tracking.
It's just one of the most powerful feature, because it makes possible to segment based on absolutely anything - the user defines.
Cloud updates
Changes were made on the BTBuckets' backend, both on the Google App Engine's code that takes care of the rules' matching and basically decides what bucket to put the user on, if any, and on the frontend that runs on Amazon EC2. Those changes were top priority to us and are done, now the whole system is much more robust and, as of now, nearly bugfree.
BTBuckets can now offer as many buckets as anyone will ever want.
The profile matching engine has been running on Google's cloud since BTBuckets conception, almost one year and half ago. Since then, we've succesfully shifted to a new paradigm of writing software and we're very proud of it, now we have mapped the majority of issues that could make an application inefficient on App Engine.
All those points are stripped off from the BTBuckets code and we enjoy a smooth and fast use of the Google cloud.
As usual, we ask you to try it out and give your feedback!
