At Google I/O we met a lot of excellent developers and discussed how BTBuckets can help them leverage their objectives by grasping the best of what segmentation has to offer. And we met
Thaya Kareeson, who developed the
WP Greet Box WordPress Plugin, a simple yet powerful segmentation plugin with over 170,000 downloads, who was probably the most excited with the dynamic…

Brazil is a very proud country - specially proud of their national soccer team. The biggest catalyst for "futebol" pride demonstration is the World Cup. The country stops and stares at what happens on the soccer field.
BTBuckets is Brazilian and we feel the need to participate in this excitement. Although all of our communication is done in English we felt the need to let other Brazilians know about our national pride. And we wanted to do this with our own tool.
The first thing…

There are some behaviors on our site that are simply precious (the analysts call them conversions). How about tweeting about a specific on your site?
Ok, but how can this be useful? Why does everything have to be useful, can't something just be fun?! Well, we did some brainstorming on ideas that could make this interesting:
- tweet about conversions on your site to a private twitter account (this is real-time information!

There will be a scheduled maintenance on Google App Engine, where we run BTBuckets profiling engine, on April 28th and May 5th, both from 1 to 2 pm Pacific Time.
Any changes made on your buckets and targets will not be available during the maintenance, however, users will still be clustered and the targets will run, without any limitations. We will save and queue changes made to the BTBuckets accounts and will synchronize them once the maintenance is over. If you have any questions re…

New options on IP intelligence
Some weeks ago, we made it possible to segment and target users based on their geographical location, defined by either City, State or Country. Now, we're extending Geolocation to also support Internet Service Providers and Organizations over the world. This means BTBuckets can now also target users within a single Organization or ISP, or any subset of them.
T…

We've just rolled out a very nice update to the buckets configuration tools. This means the configuration and presentation of the bucket profile is much better. Take a look:

The main changes the new interface implements are: one-click rule configuration and one-click condition logic change. To add a new rul…

UPDATE: To make easier the task of segmenting companies, we've created a new option inside Organization segmentation. Now, you can select
Fortune 500 to profile users coming from the top 500 companies based on the latest Fortune ranking!
For the past few years, there's been an increasing demand for Geolocation support on any software, service or device out there. It's very useful in a behavioral targeting/profiling service, for instance,…

We are continuously monitoring our application on our cloud computing providers (Google AppEngine and Amazon EC2) and constantly optimizing our infra-structure to guarantee that the BTBuckets applicacation runs as fast as possible on your site.
After a year of understanding request behavior with both our cloud computing providers, we decided to switch the hosting of our static javascript file from Amazon EC2 to Google Appengine. This is a one-time change and no configuration update (either buck…

One of the biggest challenges regarding Behavioral Targeting is to create relevant segments and configure them correctly. BTBuckets is thriving to make this mission
increasingly easier for users.
For that reason, we're launching our "Default Buckets". Now, everybody has a new way to automatically add four popular buckets to their profiles, without any configuration effort. The buckets are: New Visi…

Recently, we have launched the targeting feature for BTBuckets. This allowed to configure HTML/Javascript code to be presented to segmented users straight from within the BTBuckets interface and already using the tags already installed with BTBuckets.
Now, you have a new option to select the URLs that you want to deliver the target code (or apply regular expressions to a set of URLs).
Imagine that you want to change an image for users belonging to a specific bucket - but just present on your h…

We’ve received many questions about using BTBuckets within different websites. We still do not support sharing bucket information among different domains (BTBuckets works with 1st party cookies). We’re working to release this feature soon.
However, we’re allowing sharing buckets between subdomains with the main domain. If you have
www.yoursite.com and
content.yoursite.com, you can configure profiling settings and share buckets content between both websites.

We've received some questions about a specific use of BTBuckets upon overwriting buckets.
This situation occurs when you have a bucket A and bucket B and when you enter on bucket A you don't want to belong to B and vice versa. The natural thinking is to configure A overwriting B and B overwriting A. However, we cannot have 2 buckets overwriting each other (because the system will not allow users to be placed in buckets if they already are in another bucket that overwrites the new one).
BTBuckets…
