BTBuckets New Feature: Geolocation targeting in a few clicks

For the past few years, there's been an increasing demand for Geolocation support on any software, service or device out there. It's very useful in a behavioral targeting/profiling service, for instance, and our users strongly agree with that statement. That's why we're happy to announce that today we're rolling out this cool feature: now one might segment his/her audience based on the City, State or Country where the request was originated. This new feature works by discovering the Geolocation… Continue

Douglas Tokuno New feature: Default Buckets

One of the biggest challenges regarding Behavioral Targeting is to create relevant segments and configure them correctly. BTBuckets is thriving to make this mission increasingly easier for users. For that reason, we're launching our "Default Buckets". Now, everybody has a new way to automatically add four popular buckets to their profiles, without any configuration effort. The buckets are: New VisiContinue

Douglas Tokuno Improvement on Targeting: selecting your URLs

Recently, we have launched the targeting feature for BTBuckets. This allowed to configure HTML/Javascript code to be presented to segmented users straight from within the BTBuckets interface and already using the tags already installed with BTBuckets. Now, you have a new option to select the URLs that you want to deliver the target code (or apply regular expressions to a set of URLs). Imagine that you want to change an image for users belonging to a specific bucket - but just present on your h… Continue

Douglas Tokuno Shared buckets for subdomains

We’ve received many questions about using BTBuckets within different websites. We still do not support sharing bucket information among different domains (BTBuckets works with 1st party cookies). We’re working to release this feature soon. However, we’re allowing sharing buckets between subdomains with the main domain. If you have www.yoursite.com and content.yoursite.com, you can configure profiling settings and share buckets content between both websites. In… Continue

Douglas Tokuno The Bucket Overwrite Loop Solution

We've received some questions about a specific use of BTBuckets upon overwriting buckets. This situation occurs when you have a bucket A and bucket B and when you enter on bucket A you don't want to belong to B and vice versa. The natural thinking is to configure A overwriting B and B overwriting A. However, we cannot have 2 buckets overwriting each other (because the system will not allow users to be placed in buckets if they already are in another bucket that overwrites the new one). BTBuckets… Continue

Douglas Tokuno BTBuckets is a proud member of BTSC

Trying to make the internet a friendlier place. That is the goal of BTBuckets. Behavioral Targeting is definitely a great path down the road to friendliness. Creating relevant content, ad or customized interfaces brings browsing to another level. While reading (online obviously!) news and blogs we realized that people´s perception of behavioral targeting was well off. Privacy issues were emerging and companies were misusing this great power given to us by tech gods. Companies like Phorm and Ne… Continue
