Free Behavioral Targeting and Segmentation - BTBuckets

Hi,

I would like to know the set of capabilities BTBucket targets offer concerning HTML modification. For instance, could be possible to change existing content? Say replacing one DIV for another one depending on user behavior. Or remove some existing texts for a given page.
If so, I guess choosing "My custom code" on target creation form is the way to do that. However, I'd really appreciate to see an example that illustrates how to do that.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Daniel - DIV HTML content change is a great example on how BTBuckets can enhance personalization. We actually do this on our home-page for a variety of segments.

This is easy to set up, after you created the bucket you want to segment - create a new targeting code. In this targeting code implement the javascript that updates the DIV.

For example, we attached an javascript code to this response that waits until the page loads (to guarantee correct implementation in case your BTBuckets tag is above the DIV) and then substitutes the DIV contents with a "Updated div content" message - but that can be any HTML code.

We are currently working on automating and simplifying this update process from within the interface.

I also want to change existing content if a certain bucket is active. How will this Javascript look like if my targeting javascript code is

<script type="text/javascript">
$BTB.execCallback("eva_proefexemplaar");
</script>

Thanks in advance!

Hi Pascal -

If you are trying to experiment with updating your website for bucketed users, may we recommend that you visit SiteApps.  We just integrated with their apps store for websites that will allow you to create immediate enhancement to your site.

There is even an app to update HTML content:Div Manipulator.

Read more about the SiteApps integration.

It works great. Thanks!
I have another problem. I want to overwrite an existing cookie which I created with anothter bucket, because I want to change content with DIV Manipulator based on the most recent visitor behavior. In my current situation BTBuckets creates a new cookie for each bucket. And that doesn't work when you want to change the same DIV which is manipulated by another bucket.
